Our expertise in the field of communication technologies, in particular of the patents essential for a respective standard, is one of our core competences: For more than 15 years, we have been intensively and continuously involved in obtaining and, in particular, enforcing patents relating to mobile data communication, such as WiFi (e.g. IEEE 802.xx), cellular mobile technology (such as 3G, UMTS, LTE, 5G, etc.) but also NFC, Bluetooth and other standardized data communication technologies. Various aspects of these standards play a role: voice coding, video coding, communication processes, encryption mechanisms, message formats, modulation schemes, network architectures, etc. Our many years of experience enable us to assess the relevance of patents or patent applications for the (possilby) relevant standard and to act accordingly, both in prosecution and litigation.
